Myths about solar eclipse

A solar eclipse takes place when the moon comes in between the Sun and the earth, blocking the Sun's rays from reaching the earth. The solar eclipse taking place will be an annular solar eclipse as the moon will only cover the centre of Sun, leaving it's outer edges visible, forming a "ring of fire". An annular eclipse occurs when the moon is too far away from the earth to completely hide the Sun.

The eclipse will be annular only in some parts of the country, where people will be able to witness the ring of fire, while in the rest of the country it will be partial. It will start at 9:15 am and last till 3:04 pm(IST). Solar eclipse is although a natural phenomenon, but it is believed that it can have some negative effects on human health.
