We all love chocolates. There are various types of chocolates are available in the market like dark chocolate, semi sweet chocolate, milk chocolate, chocolate wafers etc. No matter how much old or young we are we always love to eat chocolates. Chocolate is made from tropical theobroma cacao tree seeds. People who first used it was from Olmec civilization from Mesoamerica. The researchers decided to investigate if there is any effect of chocolate bars containing plant sterols (PS) and cocoa flavanols (CF) on cholesterol levels. After the research they have reached to the decision that regular consumption of chocolate bars containing PS and CF, as a part of low fat diet , may support cardiovascular health by lowering cholesterol and improving blood pressure.

Heart disease - According to a research published in BMJ, consuming chocolate could help lower the risk of developing heart disease by one third.
Based on the observations of the researchers, it is stated that high quality chocolate consumptions could make lower the risk of cardio metabolic disorders.
They call for further experimental studies to confirm how much chocolate consumption is beneficial for health.

Athletics performance - According to a study, published in The Journal of the international society for sports and nutrition a little amount of dark chocolate might boost oxygen availability during the fitness training.
In the United Kingdom, researchers who studied cyclists doing time trials discovered that the riders used less oxygen when cycling at a moderate pace and also coveredmore distance in a two minute flat out time trial after eating dark chocolate. In this case scientists believe that the success of the dark chocolate is because of the flavanols in it which known as epicatechins, which enhance the release of nitric oxide in the body.

Manufacturers of milk chocolate think that the milk chocolate is more beneficial for health because it contains milk, which provides protein and calcium. On the other side, dark chocolate lovers think it is better because of high level of iron and antioxidants in it. It depends on the brand or on the quality.
As the consumption of chocolate have some good effects it also have some bad effects like weight gain, blood sugar, cavity etc. It depends on your health condition, quality of the chocolate.
